The best short-film script competition for people from Zabaikalsky Region.

The VIII International Zabaikalsky Film Festival invites young and creative people to take part in the competition for the Best Short Film Screenplay.

The competition, which is traditionally held only for people from Zabaikalsky Region, is intended to open the way for young talents. Special prizes and unique opportunities for further creative development await the contestants. From the past experience, the competitions gave way to talents in a great cinema future.

The example is Sergey Ladogin, who twice became the winner of the Zabaikalsky International Film Festival. He won a screenplay competition in 2012, however, he did not stop and took part in the next film festival. That time, his work did not pass the general competition - the script turned out to be more than an indicated maximum of 40 pages. Nevertheless, the script was highlighted and recognized as the best presented one. Sergey Ladogin won the prize of the Third International Zabaikalsky Film Festival and received a grand for training at the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors in Vladimir Khotinenko’s studio.

The best scenarios will be selected by the State Prize Laureate of the Russian Federation, Honored Artist, director, and screenwriter Lidia Bobrova. Competition results will be announced during the festival. The main prize for the winner will be money reward and support in the promotion of the work from the Ministry of Culture of the Zabaikalsky Region and from the Organizing Committee of the Film Festival.

The organizer of the film festival is the Association of Initiative Citizens to Promote the Preservation and Development of the Ethnographic Culture of Siberia “Zabaikalskoe Zemlyachestvo”.
