XII Zabaikalsky International Film Festival (ZIFF), set to take place in Chita from June 5–8, 2025, will be a landmark cultural event for the Transbaikal Territory.
The main program will showcase acclaimed films from around the world, many of which have not previously been widely released in Russia. The selected works will focus on themes of patriotism and family values, underscoring the festival’s cultural and social significance.
A key goal of ZMKF is to provide residents and visitors of Chita with opportunities to engage directly with leading global filmmakers. Educational workshops in online and offline formats will feature producers, directors, and cinematographers, covering essential aspects of the industry such as screenwriting, film production stages, and the creation of short and feature-length films. Participants from Transbaikal will have the chance to review their projects with professionals, receive expert feedback, and develop strategies for promoting their work.
The festival will also expand to cities and districts across the Transbaikal Territory, hosting appearances by renowned actors, directors, and film artists. This outreach aims to broaden the event’s audience and ensure accessibility for diverse viewers.
The 2025 ZMKF promises to be not only a vibrant cultural celebration but also a vital educational platform for advancing regional cinema.
