From June 5 to 8, 2025, Chita will host XII Zabaikalsky International Film Festival, a long-standing event for cinema enthusiasts and cultural exchange. This year, the festival is dedicated to themes that unite generations and peoples: Homeland and Family.
“Cinema is a bridge between the past and the future, between people and their roots. This year, we chose the themes of homeland and family because they remind us of who we are. Through stories about loved ones, our native land, and traditions, we explore what matters most: love, memory, and the bonds between generations,” emphasized the Festival’s President, Alexander Mikhailov, People’s Artist of Russia.
The festival program will feature:
- Screenings of films from around the world exploring family values, cultural heritage, and the concept of “small homelands”;
- Discussions with filmmakers and actors;
- Educational workshops;
- A theatrical performance series.
“Transbaikalia is a place where fates, cultures, and histories intertwine. We want every festival guest to feel part of one big family,” added Liliya Savina, the Festival’s Director.
The event promises to celebrate cinema as both an art form and a universal language, fostering dialogue and connection across borders and generations.
