John, a tourist and engineer, was riding through Mongolian steppes showcasing his adventurist spirit. But his motorbike crashed in the middle of the Gobi desert, he broke his arm and almost died of thirst for lack of water. Fortunately, two native small children found him and saved his life. John couldn’t believe his own eyes, when he saw two small children aged 12 and 5 who lived herding sheep in boundless steppes. He thought they were dirty and uneducated. The boy killed his lovely two year-old sheep to cook a meal for John, because of Mongolian charity. They do not understand the language of each other but none the less soon John started to understand what problems bother these kids and to get the general idea of the meaning of Mongolian life, how water was sacred and expensive and “priceless” in Gobi.

ZOLBAYAR DORJ

Director, producer, cinematographer. Born in 1972 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. In 1994 finished the Police Academy of Mongolia (lieutenant in reserve) and in 2004 graduated from the Jigjid Mongolian College of Cinematography as film director. In 1997 he established the “Nirun Film Studio” and in 2002 created his own film production company “Mongol Film Studio”. Since 2009 was president of the Cinema Association with the Union of Mongolian Art Workers and since 2012 is an executive producer of the Mongolian Film Council. In 2012 established the film company “Altan Delt” in cooperation with film producers from Inner Mongolia and China. His director’s filmography includes “L’Amour” (1996), “Once Upon a Night” (1998), “Ballade of Crazy Love” (2001), “Wants Being Kissed by Mom” (2002), “No Right to Die – Chinggis Khaan” (2008), “Three Complicated Souls" (2011), “Ten Soldiers of Chinggis Khaan” (2012).
