The movie is based on the eponymous collection of stories by Mikhail Seslavinsky. The action is set in the 70-s of the 20^th century in a small town in Nizhny Novgorod region. Mishka and his buddy Dimka are schoolboys. They are preparing for the celebration of the birthday of the pioneer organization. While fishing Mishka falls into the water. A homeless dog saves him and they make friends. Suddenly the dog is caught by a fur-dresser and only the friends’ help may help his to escape inevitable death. Now Dimka and Mishka have to decide what to prefer: to participate in the pioneer occasion or save the dog. What is more important: duty, friendship or affection?

ALEXANDER KARPILOVSKY

Born in 1964. Graduated from the Russian State Medical University, worked as a traumatologist. In 1998 graduated from the Russian State Academy of Theatre Art, in 1999 from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters & Film Directors (class of A.Mitta). Worked as a theatre actor and director, acted in several films and TV series. His directorial filmography includes “Viola Tarakanova. In the World of Criminal Passions 3” (2006, TV series), “Snow Angel” (2007, TV), “Save Me, Rain” (2008, TV), “A Stroke of Luck” (2009, TV series), “Seven Wives of One Bachelor” (2009, TV series), “Always Say ‘Always’ 7” (2001, TV series), “My Captain” (2012, TV series), etc. “I Give You My Word” is his directorial debut in cinema.
