A movie for children about growing up in this complicated world. The 11-year-old boy Yasha comes to the village to spend the summer with his aunt. There he discovers a life very different from the one he got used to in town. Once shooting from a slingshot Yasha accidentally injures a jackdaw. He has to save the bird no matter what. But that is not an easy task…

ALEXEI LOBANOV
Born in 1974 in Leningrad. Graduated from St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre Arts as a puppet-theatre artist and VGIK as a non-fiction film director. Worked as set designer in numerous Russian theatres. In 2013 was nominated for the Golden Mask Award for his works as set designer in the production “August. Osage County” by the Novosibirsk theatre “Globus”. “The Wings” is his directorial debut.
