The action is set in modern-day Italy, Russia and Poland. The young Italian Angelo’s Polish girlfriend suddenly takes the veil. He moves to Poland, finds himself a job in a leading energy company and hopes that his beloved will change her mind and they will be happy together. The young man has no idea that he will have to go through a serious test of his feelings as well as his faith. He will have to face the cruelty and cynicism of the modern world, run by corruption, and make one of the most difficult choices of his life…

KRZYSZTOF ZANUSSI
Born in 1939 in Warsaw. He studied physics at Warsaw University and philosophy at Jagiellonian University. Well-known Polish film and theater director. Winner of many prestigious film awards. He has authored numerous books about cinema. He is a member of the Pontifical Commission of Culture at the Vatican. Also he is a member of the European Film Academy Board. He has an honorary doctorate of VGIK. Has been invited to give lectures at numerous prestigious universities.
