An animation movie prompted by Gilles Paris’ novel “Autobiographie d'une Courgette”, a poetical and tender story about growing up. Courgette is not a plant, but a little boy’s nickname. His mother died, he is left all alone and does not know how and where to live. Simon, Ahmed, Jujube, Alice and Beatrice are Courgette’s new friends whom he met at the orphanage. There he will fall in love for the first time with a very special charming Camille. This is a movie about children whose life is filled with small and big tribulations, but they find the strength to believe people, to love the world around them, to enjoy everything new.

CLAUDE BARRAS
Born in 1973 in Sierre, Switzerland. Director, scriptwriter, producer, an Oscar nominee. Prior to his first feature “My Life as a Courgette” he made several shorts which participated in international film festivals. He has the rare gift of making people laugh and cry, in his witty poetic stories realism goes hand in hand with fantasy.
