VADIM ABDRASHITOV
Born in 1945 in Kharkov, USSR. Graduated from the Moscow Chemical Technology Institute and from the department of directing at VGIK (classes of M.Romm and L.Kulidzhanov). People’s Artist of Russia, winner of State Awards, prizewinner of prominent national and international lm festivals, winner of the Russian lm awards “Nika” and “Golden Eagle”. Professor at VGIK. Artistic director of ARK-Film Studio (Cinema Concern Mos lm). Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts “Nika”. His lmography includes “Reporting from Asphalt” (1971, doc.), “Stop Potapov!” (1974, short), “Speech for the Defense” (1976), “The Change” (1978), “A Fox Hunt” (1980), “The Train Has Stopped” (1982), “Parade of the Planets” (1984), “Plumbum, or The Dangerous Game” (1986), “The Servant” (1988), “Armavir” (1991), “A Play for a Passenger” (1995), “Time of a Dancer” (1997), “Magnetic Storms” (2003).
