During the Second World War there was not a single front where soldiers from Siberia did not fight. It is known that the 321st rifle division of the second command was manned by the natives of the Chita, Irkutsk, Buryat-Mongol regions. The plot revolves around two brothers who were thrown into the maelstrom of war. The brothers are of different nationalities, one is Russian, the other a Buryat. They were brought up by the same father. They went to the front. 1942. Confident in his impending victory German troops conduct a rapid advance on Stalingrad. A group of soldiers-Siberians under the command of a Junior political instructor Odon Sambuev engages in battle with elite units of the Wehrmacht, three times superior. The soldiers fall into the dense enemy ring. Somewhere near Odon seeks out his older brother, who made a promise to the father to bring the youngest home safely, come what may.

SOLBON LYGDENOV

Born in 1971 in the Republic of Buryatia, USSR. In 1991 completed his studies at the arts and graphics department of the pedagogical college in Ulan-Ude, in 1991 graduated from the department of theatre directing at the Eastern-Siberian Academy of Culture and Arts. Was chief designer at the Buryat State TV & Radio Company. Worked as production designer on several live-action movies. Appears in films as a stuntman. His directorial works include “Buddha’s Golden Chess” (2010) and “Bulag: Sacred Spring” (2013).
