Twenty-five-year-old Pasha returns to a remote Transbaikalia village from the front. In the midst of the Great Patriotic War, the young nurse was summoned for the eighth month of pregnancy. Old parents Matryona and Elisey have already mourned two sons killed in action and cannot believe the return of their unharmed daughter. But Elisey’s happiness suddenly turns into severe rage. The father cannot forgive Pasha for the child “fattened” by another’s husband. The daughter, who has gone through all the horrors of the front, finds strength to withstand the unbending father. Due to this confrontation the most intimate Elisey’s secrets are revealed, of which neither Pasha nor Matryona have been aware.

Actor, film director, teacher. Artistic director of the Transbaikalia Regional Drama Theatre. Graduated from Russian State Academy of Theatre (GITIS), workshops of V.A.Andreev and M.V.Skandarov. Worked as an assistant director for “Russian Rebellion” by Alexander Proshkin, “Poisons or World History of Poisoning” by Karen Shakhnazarov, “Cast Away” by Robert Zemekis, “The Envy of Gods” by Vladimir Menshov, and second unit director for “Hooked on the Game” by Pavel Sanayev.
